Spring is here and its time to shake off the winter hibernation and get ready for summer. BodyMindLife Yoga at its Surry Hills and Rozelle studios are running the last 40 day revolution for the year. This is always an exciting time in the year as we shift our natural rhythms to be more active in the morning and evenings in line with the shorter days that come with summer time. We’ve seen so many changes and breakthroughs in people who have participated in this event over the last 8 years. Make a commitment to yourself and take ownership of your life. Have the courage and conviction to stretch yourself beyond what you can imagine – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Live and love life always.
We would like to invite you to take up the challenge. From Monday 20th September 2010 we are ending the year with a specific challenge designed to detoxify, strengthen and balance your body. Begin summer in the best possible way. Join us and our team of teachers as we transform ourselves.
Why be part Of this challenge
Many of us are searching without knowing exactly what we are looking for. Some of us go on a diet to lose weight and try all kinds of programs and workshops to make ourselves feel better, or perhaps we throw ourselves into our work and seek wealth and status to fill the void, but underneath, an emotional emptiness remains. No matter how much we try to gloss over that yearning with temporary fixes, it is still there, whispering the truth: that what we need isn’t another quick fix, but rather a rebirth – a whole life revolution. Exerpt from Book – 40 Days to Personal Revolution – Baron Baptiste.
People often look outside of themselves for a “fix”, turning to diets, pharmaceutical drugs and many other ways of trying to mask what is really happening within. Patterns and habits take 21 days to change, a further 21 days to set the new pattern in place and a further 21 days to solidify and cement this new change into your life. Change comes from within. Find out about yourself through regular practice of yoga and being dedicated to change.
Use this challenge to transform negative patterns and habits by taking responsibility for your own health and wellbeing.
12 Laws of Transformation:
- Law 1: Seek the truth – Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free – John 8:31-33
- Law 2: Be willing to come apart – One must lose one’s life in order to find it. – Anne Morrow Lindberg
- Law 3: Step out of your comfort zone – The easy path leads to the hard life, but the hard path leads to the easy life – Rilke
- Law 4: Commit to growth - He turns not back who is bound to a star – Leonardo Da Vinci
- Law 5: Shift your vision – Things don’t change; we change. – Henry David Thoreau
- Law 6: Drop what you know – Relenquishing control is the ultimate challenge of the spiritual warrior. – The Book of Runes
- Law 7: Relax with what is - Advesity reveals genius. – Horace
- Law 8: Remove the rocks – The block of granite which was an obstacle in the path of the weak becomes a stepping stone in the path of the strong – Thomas Carlyle
- Law 9: Don’t rush the process – Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections, but instantly set about remedying them – every day begin the task anew. – Saint Francis De Sales
- Law 10: Be true to yourself -The death of dogma is the birth of reality. – Immanuel Kant
- Law 11: Be still and know – Silence is a great help to a seeker of truth, like myself. In the attitude of silence, the soul finds the path clearer in light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. – Gandhi
- Law 12: Understand that the whole is the god – In nature the overall principles represent a higher reality than does a single object.
